Special Educational Needs and Disability(SEND)
The care of our children with SEND is monitored closely by our co-ordinator, Mrs Catherine Lohn. Our Policy guides our every day work and may be found on the Policies main page.
Children with SEND are admitted to the school according to our Admissions Policy which may be found in the School Policies Section. Children who begin school with an Education, Health and Care Plan are admitted under separate arrangements in liaison with Surrey County County.
At St.Joseph's we work closely with parents and carers to ensure that each and every child's access to the school, the curriculum and all aspects of school life are met to the very best of our ability, according to individual need. Children with SEND at St Joseph's enjoy great success, academically, socially and physically. Their progress is monitored closely and regularly to ensure that their needs are met and that any barriers to achievement are minimised and overcome.
Our provision for children with SEND is thorough and regularly reviewed in order to ensure that each child meets their full potential.
On the Policies page you will find a link to a document which describes our school's provision for Special Educational Needs, in response to the fourteen questions set by the DFE. Also, there you will find a link to view our Policy document.
Should you have any questions regarding Special Educational Needs and Disability, our SENDco is Mrs Catherine Lohn.
