Admissions 2024-2025

Priority for admissions is firstly given to baptised Catholics who are resident in the parish of St Joseph's Epsom, followed by Catholic children who live in other parishes.

Please take a look at our current Admissions Policy,  given below. This will give you a clear understanding of what you need to do to secure a place at St Joseph's School.  Should you decide to apply you will need to complete a Supplementary Information Form which is also available below.

Follow the link given below to an electronic map which will assist you with understanding the parish boundary. Boundary lines generally run through the middle of roads  but there are a few exceptions, where the whole of the road falls into another parish and is therefore outside St Joseph's Epsom parish boundary lines.  These are the whole of:

  • Chessington Road
  • Colliers Close
  • Old London Road
  • Fir Tree Road

A zoomable map of the parish can be viewed at https://www.abdiocese.org.uk/education/find-a-school.

Supplementary Information Form
From 2024-2025, there is no longer a need to be signing in at mass. The requirement now is that you provide is with a copy of the baptism certificate for your child and that you have the Supplementary Information Form signed, dated and stamped by the Priest of the parish where you are resident.

Parents should submit their Supplementary Form to their parish priest for signing at any point in advance of January 2024.

In-Year Admissions
If you are moving to the area and are looking for a school place for your child, please contact the school and speak to Mrs Karen Taylor on 01372 727850, who will be able to give you an idea of where we have spaces. You will be advised to submit an application from and a Supplementary Information Form (given below).

If you are already living in the area and want your child to move schools, then the above applies, but you will also be required to complete a School Managed Admissions Form (SMA).

Who processes your application?
The governing body is the Admissions Authority for St Joseph's and has responsibility for admissions to the school, including setting the priority of admissions when the school is oversubscribed. Although Surrey County Council coordinates In year applications for St Joseph's, it is the governing body who will consider if the school has any vacancies and if so, whether they are able to offer a place. The school will contact you to let you know the outcome of your application.

When will parents be notified of the outcome of their application?
Upon receipt of an In Year application, Surrey County Council will aim to notify parents of the outcome of the application in writing within 10 school days. However, it might take up to 15 school days. You must respond to any offer of a place within two weeks.

Viewing the School
We understand that parents will be very keen to visit the school in advance of choosing St Joseph's for your child.  Please telephone the school office to make an appointment on 01372 727850.

During Covid restrictions, we compiled a film for our new Reception parents which is given below. It was a film specifically made to welcome the new children for September 2020 and was filmed during lock-down.  We believe that will give you a flavour of life at St Joseph's.

There is also drone footage of the school site so that you can appreciate the superb resources we have at St. Joseph's - our Forest School, our meadow and pond, our swimming pool and very extensive  playing fields. Please follow the link on the panel.

Further advice may be sought from the school office and the parish office, both of which hold paper copies of the boundary map. You may access information about Admissions Procedures for Surrey County Council here.
